Netting is a very powerful process to reduce settlement risk, reduce settlement  cost, reduce group foreign exchange exposure and to increase transparency and  efficiency for group reporting. In case a group has multiple entities and those  entities render services and/or goods to each other, group netting should be a  standard process. In this menu all kind of internal transactions (except financial  transactions) are entered and defined.   It is possible to implement an automatic upload from your group’s invoicing  software that the transactions don’t need to be entered manually twice. The  netting reports and invoices are managed in menu Reporting -> Netting Invoices.  If you have questions regarding the navigation, please click here.  Hint: read also our article about netting in our info-section!  Fields: Invoice Date: That’s the date of the invoice. Mandatory, free date in the format of your computer (i.e., if your computer settings are set to american date numbers,  enter MM.DD.YY, otherwise DD.MM.YY).  Invoice Reference: Reference of the invoice. Mandatory, free text.  Invoicing Party: This is the internal company who is the invoicing party, i.e who sends the invoice to the other internal party. Source is menu Standing  Data -> Companies. Mandatory, pre-entered content.  Open (Invoicing / Invoiced Party): The selected company may be directly opened in the menu Standand Data -> Companies. In case there is no  company selected, you will be forwarded to the menu Standing Data -> Companies  to the first record. There you may now directly enter a new  company. After having entered a new company, you need to close the menu “Intercompany Netting” and re-open ist that the new company is listed in  the drop-down.  Invoiced Party: The internal company who receives the invoice. Handling see “Invoicing Party”. Mandatory, pre-entered content.  Category: Each invoice need to categorized. These categories are possible: Local Re-Charges, Corporate Re-Charges, Service Charges. Mandatory,  given content.  Sub-Category: The sub-category defines the character of the invoice, these sub-categories are possible: Operational, Interest, Financing. Mandatory,  given content.  Transaction Date: Enter here the date of the transaction (i.e., not the invoice date). If multiple positions with different transaction datees are invoiced  in one invoice, enter for each position a new record. Mandatory, free date in the format of your computer (i.e., if your computer settings are set to american date  numbers, enter MM.DD.YY, otherwise DD.MM.YY).  Settlement Date: The date when the netting-invoice shall be settled. Typically, this is one day in a month or quarter. Based on this entry the Netting-  Invoice Number will be generated, see below. andatory, free date in the format of your computer (i.e., if your computer settings are set to american date numbers,  enter MM.DD.YY, otherwise DD.MM.YY).  Netting Invoice Number: Automatic generated based on the settlement date. It contains “Netinv” + Month of Settlement. But you can also input any  free text of your desire. Mandatory, automatic / free text.  Currency: The currency of the transaction, i.e. not the invoice!. Source is menu Standing Data -> Currencies. Mandatory, pre-entered content.  Amount: Enter here the total amount of transaction. Mandatory, free number.  Remarks: Free text for any remarks. Optional, free text.
